Hair loss in women can be quite a big problem for them to deal with. It can make them feel less feminine, and therefore more self-conscience. And it is fast becoming a problem for women all over the globe.
Many don't realize just how many women actually suffer from the condition. It will probably surprise you to be told that research has proven that, 30% of women could experience thinning or bald patches in their whole lifetime.
So, what are the causes of hair loss in women?
Here is a summary of the main 3 causes of the annoying condition.
1. Hormonal Issues
Yes, it is those dreaded hormones again. If you find that your hair loss is only temporary, it could be because your hormones are out of sync. Remember also, about contributing factors such as, pregnancy, thyroid conditions, and the menopause.
Each of these, as you will probably be aware of, are practically renowned for their connection to hormonal imbalances. So these could be a reason for your thinning locks.
The changes that you will experience with any of these can result in the hair follicles on your head taking a rest, and so that is when you may notice a few thinner patches some weeks later.
Don't despair though, I have some good news. This type is usually temporary, although re-growth may take a bit of time. If you want to speed up the process, you could try taking a s supplement or two, as many of those in your position do.
2. Stress
As we all must be aware of by now, our lives are becoming a lot more stressful. We all suffer from it, and one of the ways it can affect women, is through hair loss.
Yes stress is one of the causes of the condition, and that could be why you are losing your lovely locks. If you do feel severely stressed, there are many causes of your feelings such as the loss of a loved one, or perhaps a particularly grueling divorce.
Your stress, whether it is emotional or physical, could be the cause of your thinning hair. Also injury, illness or surgery could relate to your stress, and therefore hair loss, because each of these gives a shock to your system.
Luckily, as with the hormonal form of the condition, stress induced hair loss, is usually temporary. However, the stress of the hair loss itself can also add to the problem making it a whole lot worse, so women especially should seek help should they find themselves adding to their stress.
This will hopefully minimize the effect of their long term emotional health.
3. Hair styling
It may surprise you that the last common cause of the condition on our list, is an over use of styling products and tools. This includes wearing tight hairstyles such as high pony-tails or braids for an extended period of time.
Although we place a high importance on a good, in fashion hairstyle, a lot of damage can be caused, and so we should really think about alternatives, if we want to have luscious locks to style.
